Old Growth Ventures Sixth Ward Historic Victorian and Craftsman Houses Win Prestigious Good Brick

The Old Growth Ventures 908 Sabine and 908 1/2 Sabine St project were awarded a prestigious Good Brick Award from Preservation Houston for 2020. The Good Brick Award is the premier historic rehabilitation award in Texas.

908 and 908 1/2 Sabine St are a 1890 Folk Victorian and 1915 Craftsman bungalow in Houston's first National Register Historic District and City of Houston Protected Historic District. They are located on the recently restored original brick Sabine St, one of the 6 remaining brick streets in Houston.

These houses also were certified by the Texas Historical Commission and National Park Service as Certified Rehabilitations of Certified Historic Structures with a complete historic rehabilitation done to NPS standards, and were two of the first houses in Texas to earn that designation. They are one of only a handful of buildings that have earned both a Good Brick Award and a Certified Rehabilitation.
